Mohamed Abdel Shafy Said Abouzid (محمد عبد الشافي سعيد أبوزيد; born on July 1, 1985) is a famous Egyptian former professional footballer. He played as a left-back, which is a defensive position on the left side of the football field. Mohamed Abdel Shafy is known for his long and successful career with top clubs and the Egyptian national team.

Mohamed Abdel Shafy's Club Journey
Mohamed Abdel Shafy started his football journey in the youth team of Zamalek. This is one of the biggest and most famous football clubs in Egypt. After his time in the youth academy, he moved on to play for other clubs.
He played for ENPPI and then for Ghazl El Mahalla. In 2009, he made a big return to Zamalek. He became a very important player for them during his second time with the club.
Later in his career, from 2014 to 2019, Abdel Shafy played for Al Ahli in Saudi Arabia. He even had a short loan spell at Al Fateh in 2018. In 2019, he returned to Zamalek for a third time, continuing his strong connection with the club until 2025.
Playing for the Egyptian National Team
Mohamed Abdel Shafy also had a great career playing for his country. He was called to join the Egypt national team in December 2009. This was a big moment for him.
Africa Cup of Nations Success
In 2010, the Egyptian team coach, Hassan Shehata, chose Abdel Shafy to be part of the squad for the 2010 Africa Cup of Nations in Angola. He played in five matches during this important tournament. He even scored his first goal for Egypt in the semi-final match against Algeria. Egypt won that game 4-0. The team went on to win the tournament, making Abdel Shafy a champion with his country.
World Cup Participation
In May 2018, Mohamed Abdel Shafy was chosen for Egypt's team that went to the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia. This was a huge achievement for him, as playing in the World Cup is a dream for many footballers. He proudly represented Egypt on the world stage.
