Mohamed Ould Bilal (born December 10, 1963) is a politician from Mauritania. He served as the Prime Minister of Mauritania from August 2020 to August 2024. Before becoming Prime Minister, he held other important government positions.

Early Life and Learning
Mohamed Ould Bilal was born in Rosso, Mauritania, on December 10, 1963. He studied at the National School of Hydraulics in Blida, Algeria. He also earned a diploma in management sciences from MIT University in Dakar, Senegal. Later, he received a Doctor of Business Administration degree from IAE Lyon.
His Career Journey
Early Roles
From 1996 to 2000, Mr. Bilal helped lead a program to fight poverty. He also managed several companies. These included the Arab Society of Metallurgical Industries from 2008 to 2010. He also worked at the Sanitation, Works, Transport and Maintenance Company from 2010 to 2013. From 2013 to 2014, he was general manager of the Mauritanian Electricity Company.
Government Service
In the Ministry of Equipment, Mr. Bilal was the director of public works from 2005 to 2007. From 2007 to 2008, he served as the Minister of Equipment, Urban Planning, and Housing. From February 2019 to August 2020, he worked as a project manager in the office of the Prime Minister.
Becoming Prime Minister
On August 6, 2020, the previous Prime Minister, Ismail Ould Bedde Ould Cheikh Sidiya, resigned. President Mohamed Ould Ghazouani then chose Mohamed Ould Bilal to take his place. Mr. Bilal served as Prime Minister until August 2, 2024. He resigned one day after President Ghazouani began his second term in office.

Mohamed Ould Bilal can speak Arabic, English, and French. He is married and has five children.
