Ismail Ould Bedde Ould Cheikh Sidiya (born March 17, 1961) is a politician from Mauritania. He served as the country's 15th Prime Minister. This important role lasted from August 5, 2019, to August 6, 2020. Before becoming Prime Minister, he worked as the Minister of Housing. He also led the Nouadhibou Free Zone, which is a special economic area. He was also one of the people who helped start the Union for the Republic political party.

Early Life and Education
Ismail Ould Bedde Ould Cheikh Sidiya was born in Boutilimit, a town in Mauritania. He studied engineering at a famous school in France called Central School of Paris. His advanced studies took place in both Toulouse and Paris.
Career Beginnings
Sidiya started his career in a company called SNIM. He was the head of their Bureau of Studies and Programming. Later, he became the General Manager of CompuNet. He also worked as the General Manager of ETASCO Research Department. After that, he helped coordinate a project to build a new town in Boutilimit.
Public Service and Leadership
In 2008, heavy rains caused floods that destroyed the town of Tindame. Sidiya became the general director of the government agency in charge of rebuilding it. From 2009 to 2014, he served as the Minister of Housing, Town Planning, and Regional Development. This job involved planning cities and making sure people had homes. He also served as the president of the Nouadhibou Free Zone. After this period, he continued to work with his political party.
Becoming Prime Minister
On August 3, 2019, President Mohamed Ould Ghazouani chose Sidiya to be the Prime Minister. Sidiya had supported President Ghazouani during his election campaign in the Gorgol Region.
Focus on Housing
As the Minister of Housing, Sidiya spoke about the challenges of housing. He noted that many people struggled to find homes, especially due to differences in wealth. He also mentioned that many people were moving from rural areas to cities in Mauritania and other Arab countries. He stated that Mauritania had a plan to help poor people get access to resources by improving housing in cities.
