Mohamed Yousri Salama was born in the city of Alexandria, Egypt, on October 1, 1974. His father was a professor who taught literature at Alexandria University. His mother was also a poet, which means she wrote poems.

Mohamed studied to become a dentist. He also studied theology in Alexandria. Theology is the study of religious beliefs and practices. Some of his teachers were Salafi preachers, like Mohamed Ismail Al Moqadem, who taught in a kind and open way.
