The Mohammad Ali Jinnah University, often called MAJU, is a private university located in Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan. It was started in 1998. MAJU helps students learn about business, science, engineering, and computers. They offer programs for both new students and those who want to study more after their first degree.
What Makes MAJU Special?
MAJU is officially recognized by the Higher Education Commission (Pakistan). This means its degrees are accepted and valued. The university is also part of the Association of Commonwealth Universities. This group connects universities from many countries, including the United Kingdom.
MAJU's History
The Punjab Group of Colleges started helping people get an education in 1985. To honor the founder of Pakistan, Mohammad Ali Jinnah, they named this university after him. The government of Sindh officially approved Mohammad Ali Jinnah University in 1998.
MAJU used to have another campus in Islamabad. However, in 2015, that campus became a separate university called Capital University of Science & Technology (CUST). CUST is now independent but still connected through the MAJU Trust.
