Mokulēʻia (pronounced mok-oo-LAY-ee-ah) is a cool community on the North Shore of Oʻahu island in Hawaiʻi. It's part of Honolulu County. The name Mokulēʻia means "isle of abundance" in the Hawaiian language.
It's known as a census-designated place (CDP). This means it's an area that the government counts for population, but it's not an official city or town. In 2020, about 1,816 people lived here. Some fun places in Mokulēʻia include Mokulēʻia Beach, the Mokulēʻia Polo Field, and Dillingham Airfield.
You can find Mokulēʻia at the western end of Farrington Highway. If you go about 1 mile past the Dillingham Airfield entrance, you'll find the start of a trail. This trail leads to Kaʻena Point, which is the very westernmost tip of Oʻahu. The postal code for Mokulēʻia is 96791.
Where is Mokulēʻia?
Mokulēʻia is located at 21°34′38″N 158°9′32″W / 21.57722°N 158.15889°W. It's right next to Waialua. You can reach it by driving along Farrington Highway and State Route 82 (Waialua Beach Road).
The area of Mokulēʻia covers about 7.0 square kilometers (2.7 square miles). Most of this area is land, about 3.8 square kilometers (1.5 square miles). The rest, about 3.2 square kilometers (1.2 square miles), is water.
