Momay is a fun and heartwarming Philippine TV show from 2010. It mixes comedy, fantasy, and drama with a touch of romance. The story is based on a comic novel by Elena M. Patron.
The show is about a little girl named Miley, also known as Momay. After a sad event, she becomes a ghost. But she doesn't go to heaven right away! Instead, she comes back to Earth. Her mission is to protect her family and help them through tough times. The series stars child actress Xyriel Manabat as Momay. It also features a great group of actors like Maliksi Morales, Ejay Falcon, Lorna Tolentino, and Glydel Mercado. Momay first aired on ABS-CBN from May 24 to September 17, 2010.

The Story of Momay
Miley's Family and a Sad Event
Miley, or Momay, was the daughter of the owners of a fun carnival called "La Vida Funland." Her dad became very sick and sadly passed away. This was a very hard time for her family. Momay's mom, Shirley, had to be strong and take care of everything.
A Fire and a Ghostly Return
As Shirley managed the carnival, some problems came up. There was a terrible accident where one of her employees died. Later, it was thought that the employee's husband started a fire at their house. This fire accidentally caused Momay to fall into a deep sleep she couldn't wake from. Sadly, Momay's aunt, Hillary, who wanted to take over the carnival business, turned off Momay's life support. This caused Momay's death.
After Momay's death, Shirley became very sad and disappeared. Momay's younger brother, Justin, was left with Hillary. Momay's spirit went to a special place for spirits before they go to heaven. She really wanted to go back to Earth to help her family.
Momay's Mission on Earth
Momay returned to Earth, but she was still a child-like ghost. She didn't realize that 15 years had passed since her death! She met a shy boy named Andrew. They became best friends. Andrew could see ghosts, so he was the only one who could talk to Momay. Together, they tried to find Momay's family and bring peace back to their lives.

Main Characters
- Miley "Momay" Buenavidez (played by Xyriel Manabat) - Momay is a very caring young girl. She loved her younger adoptive brother, Justin. She became very sick after a fire at her house. Her aunt Hillary sadly turned off her life support, causing her death. But Momay's spirit came back to Earth to watch over her family. She could even take over other people's bodies to talk to them! After helping her family, Momay finally went to heaven.
- Andrew "Andro" Corpuz (played by Maliksi Morales) - Andrew is a shy boy. After accidentally bumping his head, he gained the special ability to see ghosts. He became Momay's first friend when she returned as a ghost. Andrew helped Momay find her mom and solve her family's problems.
- Justin "JJ" Buenavidez (played by Ejay Falcon) - Justin is Momay's younger adoptive brother. When Momay returned as a ghost, Justin was all grown up! He lived with his aunt Hillary, who often treated him badly. Hillary wanted to control Justin because he was set to inherit the carnival. Justin is also Alyssa's boyfriend.
- Shirley Buenavidez (played by Lorna Tolentino) - Shirley is Momay's loving mother. She and her husband owned the "La Vida Funland" carnival. After Momay died, Shirley ran away because she was so sad. She left Justin with Hillary. Later, it was discovered Shirley was alive but had lost some of her memory. Momay helped her mom get better and escape Hillary's plans.
- Hillary Buenavidez-Alonzo (played by Glydel Mercado) - Hillary is Momay's cruel aunt. She was very jealous of her adopted brother, who owned the carnival. Hillary was the one who turned off Momay's life support. She always tried to take over the carnival business. Hillary did many mean things to get what she wanted, even trying to hurt Justin and Shirley. In the end, the police had to stop her, and she was injured. Momay saw Hillary's spirit taken away for her bad actions.
- Gary Alonzo (played by Tyron Perez†) - Gary is Momay's cousin and Justin's half-brother. He often felt jealous of Justin. Gary was Hillary's son. Even though he was injured in a car accident, he tried to protect his mother. In the end, he and Justin made peace.
- Alyssa Ocampo (played by Queenie Padilla) - Alyssa was often left with her fortune teller aunt at La Vida Funland. She met Justin in a special way and became his girlfriend. She could also see ghosts like Momay after she was injured. Alyssa helped Momay and Justin, even turning her own father in to the police for his bad plans.
Other Important Characters
- Mickey Alonzo (played by Lito Pimentel) - Mickey is Gary's father and Hillary's husband. Unlike Hillary, he is kind and understanding. He is also Justin's biological father. He works as an engineer for the carnival rides and always stands up for Justin.
- Molly Corpuz (played by Pinky Amador) - Molly is Andrew's mother. She liked to gamble, which made Andrew feel left out. She left her family for a while but later realized her mistakes and returned to care for her son.
- Fred Corpuz (played by Allan Paule) - Fred is Andrew's father. He works at a jeepney station. He also focused a lot on money but started to care more about his children after Andrew talked to him.
- Britney Corpuz (played by Eda Nolan) - Britney is Andrew's older sister. She can be a bit spoiled but deeply loves and cares for Andrew. She was very sad when she thought her brother might die.
- Raven Ocampo (played by Bettina Carlos) - Raven worked for La Vida Funland. She was Alyssa's older sister. She planned to ruin Justin's family with her sister and father. She ended up in jail for her actions but was happy to see her sister.
- Joel Ocampo (played by William Lorenzo) - Joel was the husband of a carnival employee who died. He blamed the Buenavidez family and started the fire that hurt Momay. He was jailed for his actions.
Special Guest Appearances
- Donato "Donnie" Buenavidez (played by Joel Torre) - Donnie was Momay's father and the owner of Funland. He passed away from a serious illness.
- Libra Monte (played by Valerie Concepcion) - Libra was a dancer. She became Momay's first "host" body after she was shot and Momay's spirit entered her.
- Dra. Judy Villegas (played by Isay Alvarez) - Dra. Judy was a doctor hired by Hillary. She also became a body Momay could use to help her mother escape Hillary.
About the Show
From Comics to TV
Momay was first a popular comic novel created by Elena M. Patron. It was later made into a TV show. Before becoming its own series, a version of Momay was shown as part of the TV series Komiks in 2006.
