Company History

Monde Nissin started on May 23, 1979. It was first called Monde Denmark Nissin Biscuit Corporation. The company was founded by Hidayat Darmono. Their very first products were Nissin Butter Coconut and Nissin Wafer. Later, they added other snacks like Eggnog Cookies and Bread Stix.

In 1989, the company started making Lucky Me noodles. These instant noodles quickly became very popular. On March 17, 1999, the company changed its name to Monde Nissin Corporation.

In 2015, Monde Nissin bought a company called Quorn for a lot of money. Quorn makes meat-free foods. This was a big step for Monde Nissin to grow internationally.

By 2020, Monde Nissin was the top seller in the Philippines for instant noodles and biscuits. Their Lucky Me! noodles and SkyFlakes biscuits were especially popular. Quorn also became the top brand for meat alternatives in the United Kingdom. On June 1, 2021, Monde Nissin's shares started being traded on the Philippine Stock Exchange.

Noodle Leadership

Monde Nissin entered the instant noodle market in 1989 with Lucky Me!. They first launched Lucky Me! Instant Mami, which are noodles with soup in a pouch. These came in beef and chicken flavors.

In 1991, they launched Lucky Me! Pancit Canton. This was the first dry stir-fry noodle in a pouch in the Philippines. It created a whole new type of noodle product. Later, in 1995, Lucky Me! Supreme was introduced. These were cup noodles with Filipino flavors like La Paz Batchoy.

Lucky Me! Special noodles were launched in 2009. These noodles had local and international flavors. Some examples include Lomi, Jjamppong, and Curly Spaghetti. By 2014, Lucky Me! was known as the most chosen brand in the Philippines. Almost every Filipino home bought their products.

Biscuit Growth

In 2001, Monde Nissin bought M.Y. San Biscuit, Inc. This company made popular biscuits like SkyFlakes, Fita, and M.Y. San Grahams. After the purchase, M.Y. San Biscuit, Inc. became Monde M.Y. San Corporation.

The company continued to innovate in the biscuit market. In 2005, they launched Voice Combo Sandwich. This was a new type of biscuit that combined a cracker and a wafer. In 2014, Voice Pops were introduced. These were cream sandwiches with fun popping candies inside.
