Monroe is a town located in Adams County, which is in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. In 2020, about 391 people lived there. This number was a little lower than the 398 people who lived there in 2010. A small community called Monroe Center is also part of the town of Monroe.
Monroe's Location and Size
Monroe is found in the northwestern part of Adams County. It sits along Petenwell Lake, which is a very large lake. This lake is actually a reservoir on the Wisconsin River.
The town covers a total area of about 99.6 square kilometers (38.5 square miles). A big part of this area is water. About 42.9 square kilometers (16.6 square miles) is water, which is about 43% of the town's total size. The rest, about 56.7 square kilometers (21.9 square miles), is land.
People of Monroe
In the year 2000, there were 363 people living in Monroe. These people lived in 168 different homes. Most of the people living in Monroe were White. A very small number were Native American or Asian. Some people were also of Hispanic or Latino background.
