Monte Aloia is a special mountain in Galicia, Spain. It became a natural park on December 4, 1978. This park covers about 746 hectares (that's like 1,843 acres!). It is located near the town of Tui, which is on the River Miño.
Exploring Monte Aloia's Landscape
Monte Aloia has a bumpy and uneven landscape. Its height ranges from 80 meters to 629 meters at the top, called Alto de San Xiao. From here, you can see a wide view of the River Louro and the Miño River all the way to where it meets the sea.
The ground here is mostly acidic and not very deep. It has a lot of granite rock underneath, which often sticks out of the ground. These rocks and stones are a common sight in the landscape of the lower Miño region (called O Baixo Miño).
Nature and History at Monte Aloia
Monte Aloia is a Site of Community Importance. This means it is a very special place for nature. The park has many pine tree forests and lots of bushes.
You can also find old remains from the Castro culture here. These are signs of how people lived in this area a long time ago. There are also other interesting things that show the history and traditions of the local people.
