Montgomery is a small, quiet place in Iowa, United States. It's called an unincorporated community. This means it's not an official town or city with its own local government. Instead, it's part of a larger area called Diamond Lake Township in Dickinson County.

Montgomery's Past: A Small Community's Story

Montgomery began because of the Rock Island railroad. This railroad used to run right through the area. Even though the tracks are gone now, a large building called an elevator is still there. Elevators are often used to store grain.

Long ago, Montgomery also had a schoolhouse. Kids would go there to learn. This old school building was later moved and changed into a house. There was also a building for the Post Office. It was turned into a garage and is now owned by a private person.

In 1902, about 73 people lived in Montgomery. By 1925, the number of people grew to 105.
