Mooreville is a small, quiet area in Tasmania, Australia. It's mostly a farming community, but some families live there too.

This area is part of the Burnie local government area (LGA). An LGA is like a local council that manages services for a specific region. Mooreville is about 7 kilometers (4 miles) southwest of the main town of Burnie.

In 2016, a count of the population showed that only 303 people lived in Mooreville. If you need shops or other services, you can find them in the nearby suburb of East Cam.

Mooreville is also home to a special place called the Mooreville Training Track. This used to be known as Armytage. It's a place where horses are bred and trained, often for racing or other horse sports.

You can also find some really beautiful gardens in Mooreville and the next-door area of Ridgley. One famous garden is the Emu Valley Rhododendron Garden. It's known for its amazing collection of colorful rhododendron flowers.

Mooreville's Past

Mooreville got its name from an early settler, James Munce. He named his property "Mooreville" after his parents' estate back in England. This area was officially recognized as a locality in 1966.
