Stowport is a small area in Tasmania, Australia. It's mostly a farming area where people live in the countryside. Stowport is part of the City of Burnie area, which is in the north-west part of Tasmania.
This place is about 11 kilometers (about 7 miles) south-east of the bigger town of Burnie. In 2016, a count of people showed that 404 people lived in Stowport. This number also includes people living near Glance Creek.
Even though some houses are built here, most of the land in Stowport is used for farming. One old farm, called "Karingal," was around in the early 1900s. A small stream called Chasm Creek flows through this property.
Stowport has a community building called Stowport Hall. This is a place where local people can meet and hold events. There is also a local shop that sells meat, known as a butchery.
A special place in Stowport is the Glance Creek Estate. This is a winery that started in 2011. They grow grapes to make wine. They also make fruit wines using fruits like myrtus and blueberries.

The name Stowport was first used for this area way back in 1856. Around the year 1900, a plan was made for how the town might grow. Stowport officially became known as a "locality" in 1966. This means it was recognized as a specific place on maps and for government purposes.
