About MorMor: His Life and Music Journey
Seth Nyquist was born in Toronto, Canada, in 1992. He grew up there with his adoptive mother and sister. His stage name, MorMor, means "grandmother" in Swedish. This name is a special reference to his grandmother.
When he was younger, Seth loved music. He sang in his school's choir. He also played the trumpet in a band. After finishing school, he started studying at Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson University). But he soon realized his true passion was music. He decided to leave university and focus on becoming a musician. He then took lessons to learn piano and improve his singing.
MorMor's First Music Releases
In 2015, MorMor released his very first collection of songs. It was an EP (which is like a mini-album) called Live for Nothing. This was the first time he used the name MorMor for his music.
A few years later, in 2018, he released another EP. This one was called Heaven's Only Wishful. He released it through his own music company, called Don't Guess.
In 2019, MorMor received an important award nomination. His song "Whatever Comes to Mind" was nominated for the SOCAN Songwriting Prize. This award celebrates great songwriting in Canada.
