Moralina (also known as Moralina de Sayago) is a small town in the province of Zamora, located in the region of Castile and León, Spain. In 2018, about 263 people lived there. Moralina is about 42 kilometers (26 miles) away from the city of Zamora.
The town is part of the Sayago area, which is like a county. Moralina also works with an organization called Sayagua. This group helps all the small towns in Sayago get water and manage their recycling. This is important because the towns are too small to handle these services on their own.

Land and Nature in Moralina
The land around Moralina is mostly flat, like a wide plain. However, some small rivers and streams cut through the land. These streams flow towards the arribe, which is a deep canyon on the eastern side of the town.
There are also two old areas called "Trabanquina" and "Requejo". These were once large dehesas, which are special types of pastures with scattered trees. Many years ago, between the 1700s and 1800s, these dehesas were sold to the local towns. Then, the land was divided among the people living there. This changed how these dehesas looked and were used, turning them from big estates into many smaller farms.
What People Do for Work
The main jobs in Moralina are in farming and raising animals. People especially raise cows and sheep. In recent years, rural tourism has become a new and hopeful way for people to earn money. This is because the areas around Moralina have been made into a protected natural park.
Arribes del Duero Natural Park
The natural park is called Arribes del Duero Natural Park. It was created because the deep river canyons of the Duero River have a very high ecological value. These canyons are known as "Arribes" in the Sayago region. The beautiful nature attracts visitors, which helps the local economy.
Life in Moralina
Like many rural areas in the province, Moralina is experiencing depopulation. This means fewer people are living there over time. This trend started in Spain in the 1960s, when many people moved from the countryside to cities. This is often called rural flight.
However, Moralina is still one of the most active towns in the Sayago area. For example, every year on August 15th, the town holds a popular craft fair.
