Moreno is a city in Buenos Aires Province, Argentina. It is the main town of Moreno Partido. This city is part of the large urban area called Greater Buenos Aires. It is located about 36 kilometers (22 miles) west of the city of Buenos Aires.
In 2001, the population of Moreno was 148,290 people. Moreno is surrounded by other towns and a river. To the east is Paso del Rey. To the north are Trujui and Cuartel V. Francisco Álvarez is to the west. To the south are Merlo and the Reconquista River.

The city of Moreno began around 1860. This was when an Argentine railway company opened a train station. The land for the station was given by Amancio Jacinto Alcorta. He was a famous politician and composer. The city officially started on October 25, 1864.
