But the family behind Mornflake, the Lea family, had been milling oats for a much longer time! Their oat business actually started way back in 1675. Today, John Lea is in charge of the company. He is a direct descendant of the very first founder from 1675. Mornflake is a big supporter of local sports. The company is the official shirt sponsor for two football teams: Crewe Alexandra F.C. and Altrincham F.C.. This means their logo appears on the team jerseys.

In June 2021, Mornflake made an even bigger splash in football. They signed a deal with Crewe Alexandra F.C. to name their home stadium. The team's ground, which was called Gresty Road, is now known as the "Mornflake Stadium." This naming deal will last until the 2023–24 football season.
