Morning Star Lake is a beautiful lake located in the central part of Nebraska, a state in the United States. It is found near the Platte River, just outside the town of Clarks. This lake is one of five private, human-made lakes that form a special community called "Summerwood".
How Morning Star Lake Was Made
Morning Star Lake and the other Summerwood lakes were created because of sand and gravel mining. A company called Overland Sand and Gravel dug up sand and gravel from this area. As they dug, the holes filled with water. This water comes from natural springs underground. The lakes have clear, clean water and sandy bottoms.
Life at Summerwood
Summerwood is a private community, which means it has a gate to control who enters. Morning Star Lake is a popular spot, and about 40 homes are built around its shores. People who live here enjoy the peaceful lake environment.
Fun at the Lake
Morning Star Lake is a great place for fun activities, especially during the summer. The community celebrates the Fourth of July with many exciting events. These include a boat parade where decorated boats float by. There are also games like sand volleyball and a scavenger hunt. Kids and adults can join sand castle contests. The day ends with a big community cookout and a dazzling fireworks show over the lake.
