Morris, also known as Morris Station, is a small place in southeastern Quitman County, Georgia, in the United States. It's called an unincorporated community. This means it's a group of homes and businesses that isn't officially a town or city with its own local government.

How Morris Became a Community
The area known as Morris was officially recognized by the Georgia General Assembly in 1911. The General Assembly is like the state's law-making group. When they recognized Morris, it became an official town.
Naming Morris
It is believed that Morris was named after a person named James Morris. James Morris was the son of someone who worked for the railroad. Railroads were very important for travel and moving goods a long time ago.
When Morris Changed Status
Morris was a town for many years. However, in 1995, its official town status was removed. This means it went back to being an unincorporated community. It no longer has its own town government.
