How Moscow Got Its Start
Moscow was officially marked out and planned in 1857. This process is called being "platted." It was given its name after the famous city of Moscow in Russia.
The Early Post Office
A post office was opened in Moscow in 1859. This was an important place for people to send and receive letters and packages. The post office served the community for many years. However, it eventually closed down in 1903.
