Mosley Music Group (often called MMG) is a record label created by the famous music producer Timothy "Timbaland" Mosley in 2006. It followed his earlier label, Beat Club. Since 2019, MMG has been part of Def Jam Recordings. Before that, it worked with Interscope Records (from 2006 to 2014) and Epic Records (from 2014 to 2019).

History of Mosley Music Group

Mosley Music Group was started after Timbaland's first label, Beat Club, closed down. The very first album released by MMG was Loose by Nelly Furtado. This album was a huge success and sold over a million copies, earning a "platinum" award.

MMG's second release was Timbaland's own album, Shock Value. Then came the third album, Dreaming Out Loud by OneRepublic, released in November 2007. A song from that album, "Apologize", became a massive hit. It reached number 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. In November 2007, "Apologize" was played on the radio more than any other song in North America's Top 40 history. By February 2008, it was one of only two songs ever to be downloaded digitally 3 million times.

After almost ten years with Interscope Records, Timbaland decided to move MMG's distribution to Epic Records in November 2014. This change happened because he had helped a lot with Michael Jackson's second album released after his death, Xscape. Most artists signed to Mosley Music Group then had their new music handled by Epic. However, OneRepublic stayed with Interscope Records.
