Mosley Music Group (MMG) is a famous American record label. It was started in 2006 by the music producer Timothy "Timbaland" Mosley. A record label is a company that helps artists record and sell their music.

MMG is a part of a larger music company called Def Jam Recordings. Before joining Def Jam in 2019, it worked with other major labels like Interscope Records and Epic Records.

The Story of MMG

Timbaland created Mosley Music Group after his first record label, Beat Club, closed down. MMG quickly became successful.

The very first album released by the label was Loose by Nelly Furtado. It was a huge hit and sold over a million copies, which is called going "platinum." The label's next big release was Timbaland's own album, Shock Value.

In 2007, MMG released the first album by the band OneRepublic, called Dreaming Out Loud. A song from that album, "Apologize", became incredibly popular. It reached the #2 spot on the Billboard Hot 100, a list of the most popular songs in the U.S.

The song "Apologize" broke a record for being played on the radio more than any other song in a single week in North America. It was also one of the first songs in history to be downloaded digitally over 3 million times.

In 2014, after working with Interscope Records for almost ten years, Timbaland moved MMG to Epic Records. This happened because Timbaland helped produce a successful album for Michael Jackson called Xscape. Most artists signed to MMG then released their music through Epic. However, OneRepublic stayed with Interscope Records.
