Motsi Mabuse was born on April 11, 1981. She is a famous dancer from South Africa who now lives in Germany. Motsi is well-known for being on the German TV show Let's Dance. She started as a professional dancer and later became a judge in 2011. Since 2019, she has also been a judge on the British show Strictly Come Dancing.

Early Life and Dance Beginnings
Motsi Mabuse was born in 1981 in a place called Mankwe. This area is now part of the North West Province in South Africa. When she was five, her family moved to Pretoria.
Her sister, Oti Mabuse, was born there. Both Motsi and Oti became very interested in dancing. Motsi went to Hillview High School in Pretoria.
Motsi Mabuse's Dance Career
Becoming a Professional Dancer
Motsi was expected to become a lawyer. Her family had a law firm. But while she was studying at the University of Pretoria, she fell in love with dancing. She changed her focus to dance.
In 1998, she was the runner-up in the national dance championships. The next year, she met Timo Kulczak at a big dance event in Blackpool, England. He became her dance partner and later her husband. They got married in 2003. They competed in many international dance contests from their home in Germany. In 2013, Motsi won a German Latin dance competition with her partner, Evgenij Voznyuk.
Let's Dance in Germany
Motsi became famous in Germany in 2007. She joined the TV dance show Let's Dance on the RTL channel. She danced with singer Guildo Horn. They finished in 6th place.
In 2010, she danced in the third season of the show with Rolf Scheider. They reached fifth place. Since 2011, Motsi Mabuse has been a judge on Let's Dance. She judges alongside Joachim Llambi and Jorge Gonzalez.
Other TV Shows and Performances
Motsi also worked for the ARD TV channel during the 2010 FIFA World Cup. She reported from South Africa. In 2011, she became a judge on Das Supertalent, a talent show. She was also a judge on the German version of Stepping Out in 2015.
In 2016, Motsi started acting. She performed in a play called The Crucible. She also judged a modeling show called Curvy Supermodel. In 2018, she hosted a new styling show called Who Makes Me Beautiful.
Strictly Come Dancing in the UK
In July 2019, Motsi Mabuse was announced as a new judge for the BBC show Strictly Come Dancing. She joined the show for its seventeenth season. Her sister, Oti, was a professional dancer on Strictly Come Dancing from 2015 to 2021.
In 2021, Motsi became an ambassador for Weight Watchers.
Motsi Mabuse's Personal Life
Motsi was married to her dance partner, Timo Kulczak, from 2003 to 2014. In 2015, she started a relationship with her dance partner, Evgenij Voznyuk. They got married in 2017 and had a daughter the next year.
Motsi has lived in Germany for over 20 years. She and Evgenij run a dance school together there.
