Mott's is a well-known American company. It mainly makes products from apples. You might know them for their delicious apple juice and apple sauce.
The company started a long time ago in 1842. A man named Samuel R. Mott began making apple cider and vinegar. Over the years, Mott's grew and joined with other companies. Today, it is part of Keurig Dr Pepper.
The Story of Mott's
Mott's began in 1842 with Samuel R. Mott. He lived in a place called Bouckville, New York. Samuel was good at making apple cider and vinegar. His products were even shown at big events like the Centennial Exposition in Philadelphia in 1876. They were also at the World's Columbian Exposition in Chicago in 1893.
After some time, Samuel Mott sold his company to his sons, John and Frederick. The company's name changed to Genesee Fruit Company. Later, Frederick sold the company to the W.B. Duffy Cider Company in 1900. These two companies then joined together in 1914. They became known as Duffy-Mott.
In the 1970s, a company called American Tobacco Company bought Duffy-Mott. Then, in 1982, Cadbury Schweppes bought Duffy-Mott. Four years later, in 1986, the company's name became shorter. It was simply called Mott’s Inc.
Mott's kept growing and adding new products. In 1991, they started making apple sauces with different fruit flavors. These tasty sauces later became the Mott's Fruitsations brand. In 1999, Mott's also took over making and selling Hawaiian Punch drinks.
In 2006, many of Mott's drink brands joined a bigger group called Cadbury Schweppes Americas Beverages. Then, in 2008, Mott's became its own separate part of Keurig Dr Pepper.
