Mount Anglem / Hananui is the tallest mountain on Stewart Island / Rakiura, which is one of New Zealand's beautiful islands. This mountain stands 980 meters (about 3,215 feet) high. It is found on the northern part of the island, about 20 kilometers (12 miles) northwest of the town of Oban. The mountain's name was officially changed to Mount Anglem / Hananui after an important agreement called the Ngai Tahu Claims Settlement Act in 1998. This act recognized the rights of the Māori people, Ngāi Tahu.
