The Mount Carmel A.M.E. Zion Church & Campground is a special historic place in Heath Springs, South Carolina. It is located in Lancaster County, South Carolina. This site was started way back in 1866. It is a camp meeting ground for the African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church.

What is Mount Carmel Campground?
This campground is a unique place. It has about 55 small "cabins" or "tents." These are arranged in a rectangle shape. In the middle of these cabins is the main brick church. This church is called Mount Carmel A.M.E. Zion Church.
A Place for Worship and Community
People come to Mount Carmel to worship and meet others. They travel from far away, like New York City to Orlando, Florida. It's a place for friends and families to gather. You can also find vendors selling things here.
The Unique Cabins
Most of the cabins are small wooden structures. Some are two stories tall. These larger cabins are made from concrete blocks and wood. They are perfect for bigger families. The church cemetery is also on the property.
