Where is Mount Dallas Located?

Mount Dallas is nestled in a special geographical spot called a "water gap." This is where a river cuts through a mountain ridge. In this case, it's the Raystown Branch Juniata River flowing through Tussey Mountain. It's about one mile (two kilometers) upstream from the town of Everett.

A Look Back: Railroads and History

Mount Dallas has an interesting past connected to railroads. It was once the northern end, or "terminus," of the Bedford and Bridgeport Railroad. This railway line is no longer in use today. It was once controlled by a very famous company called the Pennsylvania Railroad. Mount Dallas was also an important planned stop for another big railway project, the South Pennsylvania Railroad, but this project was never finished.
