Mount Skook Davidson is a tall mountain located in the Kechika Ranges of the Cassiar Mountains. You can find it in the far northern part of British Columbia, Canada. This mountain stands at about 2,382 meters (7,815 feet) high.
The mountain is named after a local pioneer named John Ogilvie Davidson. People often called him "Skook" Davidson or "Skookum" Davidson. The word "skookum" means "big and strong" or "powerful," which described him well!
John Ogilvie Davidson was an important person in this area. He started out as a land surveyor, helping to map out the land. Later, he became a packer, guide, and rancher, even founding the "Diamond J Ranch" which the mountain overlooks. He also played a part in finding and choosing the path for the famous Alaska Highway.
