Why is it Called Mont Édouard?
This mountain is named after Édouard Moreau. He was a trapper of Innu origin. He worked in the area around this mountain in the late 1800s. When people decided to build a ski resort here, they chose to keep the name Mont Édouard. The name "Mont Édouard" became official on April 20, 1988. This was done by the Commission de toponymie du Québec, which names places in Quebec.
