Discovering Mountain View's Location
Mountain View is found in the western part of Catawba County. It shares its borders with a few other places. To the north, you'll find the town of Long View. Just northeast of Mountain View is the town of Brookford.
The city of Hickory is also nearby. Hickory has been growing and adding more land, so it now almost divides Mountain View into two separate parts.
Getting Around Mountain View
Several important roads help people travel through Mountain View. North Carolina Highway 127 runs right through the community. If you head north on NC 127 for about 4 miles, you'll reach the center of Hickory. Going south for 4 miles on the same highway will take you to North Carolina Highway 10.
Another major road, U.S. Route 321, crosses the eastern edge of Mountain View. This is a four-lane expressway, which means it's designed for faster travel. Exit 42 on US 321 connects directly to NC 127. This exit is also just 1 mile south of where US 321 meets Interstate 40 in Hickory.
