Moyen-Chari (which means "Middle Chari" in Arabic) is one of the 23 regions in the country of Chad. It's located in the southern part of Chad. The main city and capital of Moyen-Chari is Sarh. This region used to be part of a larger area called Moyen-Chari Prefecture, which also included the Mandoul Region we know today.

Land and Nature

Moyen-Chari is mostly flat land covered in savannah. A savannah is a grassland ecosystem with scattered trees. Some parts of the region are protected. They are part of the Manda National Park, which helps keep the natural environment safe.

Lake Iro

In the northeast of Moyen-Chari, there is a special lake called Lake Iro. Scientists think this lake might have been formed by a meteorite hitting the Earth a long time ago. This makes it a suspected impact crater.
