Mugen Rao (born on October 20, 1995) is a talented Malaysian singer and actor. He is well-known for his work in Tamil films. In 2019, he became famous after winning the reality TV show Bigg Boss 3. He has also played main roles in movies like Ghora (2018) and Velan (2021).

Mugen Rao was born in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He is one of three children in his family. His father, Prakash Rao, passed away in 2020.

Mugen's Journey in Music and Acting

Mugen started his singing career with his father. His father was a stage singer. Together, they performed in many stage shows. Mugen's first acting role was in a Malay TV show called Senandung Malam. He also had small parts in movies like Gerak Khas and Ghora. He appeared in short films, TV movies, and advertisements too.

Becoming a Star

Mugen's career really took off in 2016. His music video "Kayalvizhi" became very popular online. It went viral on YouTube. After that, he released more successful music videos. These include "Anbe Aruyire", "Pogiren", "Mayakkurriye", and "Oththa Thamarai". The "Oththa Thamarai" video was filmed in 2022 using special virtual production technology.

In 2019, Mugen made history. He was the first Malaysian person to be a contestant on Bigg Boss Tamil. He ended up winning the third season of the show.
