Mulberry is a small town in Madison Township, Clinton County, Indiana, United States. In 2020, about 1,231 people lived there. The town got its name from a mulberry tree. This tree grew right where the town was first started.

History of Mulberry

The town of Mulberry was officially planned on October 1, 1858. A person named W. S. Perrin created the first map for the town. This map is called a plat. At first, there was a small mistake. The map accidentally called the town Glicksburg.

The very first home in Mulberry belonged to Thomas Waldron. He also opened the town's first store. Mr. Waldron was also Mulberry's first postmaster. This meant he was in charge of the mail.

Around 1873, a railroad called the Lafayette, Muncie and Bloomington Railroad reached Mulberry. This made it easier for people and goods to travel. Later, this railroad became part of bigger lines. In the early 1900s, an electric train line, called an interurban, also served the town.
