History
Muldon has an interesting past. It is located right along the Kansas City Southern Railway line. Railways were very important for moving goods and people a long time ago.
In the year 1900, Muldon was a busy place. It had a church and about 75 people living there. It was also a key spot for shipping cotton. This means a lot of cotton grown in the area was sent from Muldon to other places.
A post office served the community for many years. It was first called Aberdeen Junction in 1870. Later that same year, its name changed to Muldon. The Muldon post office stayed open until 1957.
Close to Muldon, there is an area called the Muldon Field. This field is a place where natural gas is found and collected from underground.
