A Look Back at Muloorina's History

Muloorina was started before the year 1880. It was built on land that traditionally belonged to the Tirari people. By 1938, Stan and Elliot Price owned the property. At that time, Ellery Talbot was in charge of managing the station. In 1938, Frome Creek flooded, causing the station to be covered in water.

Donald Campbell's Visit

A very exciting event happened at Muloorina in 1964. A famous person named Donald Campbell stayed there with about 500 other people. He was there to try and set a new land speed record. He did this on the dry surface of Lake Eyre in his special car, the Bluebird. This part of the station was about 800 square kilometers (309 square miles) at the time.
