Murfreesboro is a city in Arkansas, United States. It is the main town, also called the county seat, of Pike County. In 2020, about 1,495 people lived there. Murfreesboro is famous for a special place nearby: the Crater of Diamonds State Park. This is where you can actually search for real diamonds!

History of Murfreesboro
In 1906, something amazing happened on a farm near Murfreesboro. People found diamonds! Scientists later discovered that the diamonds came from an 80-acre (32 hectare) area formed by a volcano.
This special land was later sold to the state of Arkansas. The state turned it into the Crater of Diamonds State Park. This park is 37 acres big. It opened to the public as a tourist attraction. You can pay a small fee to search for diamonds yourself.
Another interesting place in Murfreesboro is the Ka-Do-Ha Indian Village. This village is about 1,000 years old. It has a museum where you can learn about the Native American people who lived there. You can even dig in a field to find real arrowheads.

The South Pike County School District was formed on July 1, 2010. This happened when the Murfreesboro School District and the Delight School District joined together. The Murfreesboro district took in the Delight district and then changed its name.
