The Story of Murphy's Mob
The show was all about a football team called Dunmore United. They were a fictional team in the Third Division and were having a tough time. Ken Hutchison played Mac Murphy, who became the new manager of this struggling club.
But it wasn't just about the grown-ups! A group of young fans of Dunmore United were also a big part of the story. They faced their own challenges, like trying to set up a junior supporters' club and even a clubhouse right inside the stadium. It showed how much they loved their team!

How the Show Was Made
To make the football scenes look real, the show used actual footage from Watford football games from that time. This is why the fictional Dunmore team wore yellow, red, and black uniforms. These colours matched Watford's, making it easy to mix the real game footage with the show's drama.
A famous football player, Billy Wright, who used to be the captain of the England team, helped out with the first series. He was credited as the "Soccer Advisor," making sure the football parts looked authentic.
