A famous part of their history is sponsoring Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom. This popular wildlife TV show started in 1963. It was hosted by Marlin Perkins and Jim Fowler and taught many people about animals. The show was on TV for over 20 years.
Mutual of Omaha was also one of the first companies to offer disability insurance to many different types of workers. In 1966, they were among the first to provide extra insurance for people using Medicare.
