My Name Is Earl is a funny American TV show called a sitcom. It was shown on TV from September 20, 2005, to May 14, 2009. The show was created by Greg Garcia and made by 20th Century Fox Television. In the United States, it was broadcast on the NBC television network. The series ran for four seasons. The last episode of season four ended with the words 'To Be Continued', but the show was not continued.
What the Show Is About
The story of My Name Is Earl follows a character named Earl Hickey. Earl is not very smart and used to be a small-time crook. He lives in a made-up place called Camden County.
One day, Earl wins a lot of money in the lottery, about $100,000! While he is celebrating, he gets hit by a car. This accident makes him think about his life. He decides that bad things are happening to him because of something called karma. Karma means that if you do bad things, bad things will happen to you. And if you do good things, good things will come back to you.
Earl then makes a list of all the bad things he has done to other people. He decides to fix every wrong thing on his list. As soon as he starts to make things right, his lost lottery ticket magically comes back to him! This makes him believe even more that karma is real. He uses his lottery winnings to help him fix all the mistakes he made in the past, one by one.

My Name Is Earl quickly became one of NBC's most popular new shows. The main actor, Jason Lee, had been in many movies before this show.
In 2006, the very first episode of the show won Emmy Awards for its creator, Greg Garcia, and director, Marc Buckland. An Emmy Award is a very important prize for TV shows.
In 2007, Jaime Pressly, who plays Joy Turner, won an Emmy Award for being an amazing supporting actress in a comedy show. The series was also nominated for other big awards, like the Golden Globe Award in 2006, the British Academy Film Awards in 2007 and 2008, and a People's Choice Award in 2008.
