Jaime Elizabeth Pressly (born July 30, 1977) is an American actress and model. She is famous for playing Joy Turner on the NBC sitcom My Name Is Earl from 2005 to 2009. For this role, she won a Primetime Emmy Award. She was also nominated for a Golden Globe Award and a Screen Actors Guild Award.
Pressly has also appeared in movies like Can't Hardly Wait (1998), Not Another Teen Movie (2001), and I Love You, Man (2009). From 2014 to 2021, she played Jill Kendall on the CBS sitcom Mom. This role earned her a nomination for a Critics' Choice Television Award.

Early life and career
Jaime Pressly was born in Kinston, North Carolina. Her mother was a dance instructor and her father was a car salesman. As a child, she trained as a gymnast. This helped her get modeling jobs.
When she was 14, she was on the cover of Teen Magazine. At 15, she got a modeling contract in Japan. To travel for work, she needed to be legally independent from her parents. This is called legal emancipation, and she was granted it at age 15.
Acting career
First roles
Pressly's acting career began with small parts in TV shows and movies. She had guest roles in shows like Push and Mortal Kombat: Conquest. From 1999 to 2001, she was one of the main characters in the TV show Jack & Jill.
In the early 2000s, she appeared in several movies for teenagers. In Not Another Teen Movie (2001), she played a high school cheerleader named Priscilla. She also had roles in the comedies Joe Dirt and Tomcats. In 2002, she starred in the horror movie Demon Island. She later played a motorcycle-riding character in the action movie Torque (2004).
Breakthrough with 'My Name Is Earl'
From 2005 to 2009, Pressly starred as Joy Turner in the popular sitcom My Name Is Earl. Her character was the funny and tough ex-wife of the main character. The show was a big hit with both viewers and critics.
For her performance, Pressly won a Primetime Emmy Award in 2007 for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series. She was also nominated for a Golden Globe and a Screen Actors Guild Award. She said the show restored her faith in the entertainment business.
During this time, she also voiced a character in the animated movie Horton Hears a Who! (2008). In 2009, she co-starred in the successful comedy movie I Love You, Man with Paul Rudd and Jason Segel.
Later television work
After My Name Is Earl, Pressly continued to work mostly in television. In 2010, she appeared in the ABC Family movie Beauty & the Briefcase with Hilary Duff. She also had a guest role on the CBS comedy Rules of Engagement.
She starred in the sitcom I Hate My Teenage Daughter from 2011 to 2012. In 2014, she played the main character in the comedy Jennifer Falls. In the same year, she appeared in the comedy movie A Haunted House 2 with Marlon Wayans.
From 2014 to 2021, Pressly had a major role in the CBS sitcom Mom. She played Jill Kendall, a rich woman who is part of a group of friends. The show was very successful and ran for eight seasons. In 2022, Pressly joined the cast of the sitcom Welcome to Flatch.
Other work
In 2003, Pressly started her own line of clothing and sleepwear called J'aime by Jaime Pressly. She later launched a second line called J'aime Collection in 2008. She said she always loved design and creating things.
She has also been a spokesperson for different brands. In 2000, she was a model for Liz Claiborne Cosmetics and its perfume "Lucky You". She has appeared on the covers of many magazines, including InStyle, Health, and Shape.
Personal life
In 2005, Pressly began dating Eric Calvo. Their son was born on May 11, 2007. The couple separated in 2008.
In July 2009, Pressly got engaged to entertainment lawyer Simran Singh. They married on September 26, 2009. Pressly filed for divorce in January 2011, and it was finalized later that year.
In October 2017, Pressly and her longtime boyfriend Hamzi Hijazi welcomed twin sons.
