Mayra Ambriz (born May 21, 1986), known as Myra, is an American pop singer. She has Mexican heritage. Myra was the first Latina artist to sign with Hollywood Records and Walt Disney Records.
She is well-known for her songs "Dancing in the Street" and "Miracles Happen (When You Believe)". These songs were featured in popular Disney movies in 2001.

Myra's Music Journey
Starting Young
Myra began her music career very early. In 1997, when she was just 11 years old, she released her first album. It was called Mensajera del Amór. She used the name Mayra Caról for this album.
Joining Disney Records
In May 2000, Myra signed with Walt Disney Records. This was a big step for her. Her first song with them was "Magic Carpet Ride". It came out on May 23, 2000. This song was part of a music collection called La Vida Mickey.
Hits and Movies
The year 2001 was very busy for Myra. She recorded a cover of "Dancing in the Street". This song was for the movie Recess: School's Out. It was a fun song that many people enjoyed.
Later, "Dancing in the Street" was also on her own album, Myra. This album was released on June 26, 2001. Another popular song from her album was "Miracles Happen (When You Believe)". This song was featured in the movie The Princess Diaries.
Myra also appeared in the movie Max Keeble's Big Move in October 2001. She played a character named Chelsea. During this time, she toured with singer Aaron Carter. She also performed as a special artist on the Radio Disney Live! 2001 World Tour.
Later Music
Myra continued to make music. In 2007, she was featured on a song called "Back to You". This song was part of an album called La Costa Nuestra. Another song by Myra, "Get On Your Way", was also on that album. In 2008, she was featured on "Confessing My Love" by Mal Hablado.
