Nacascolo is a special area called a district in Costa Rica. It is part of the Liberia region, which is in the Guanacaste province.

History of Nacascolo
Nacascolo became an official district on November 26, 1971. This happened because of a special government decision called Decreto Ejecutivo 2077-G. Before that, it was part of the Liberia area.
Geography and Location
Nacascolo covers an area of about 327 square kilometers. That's like a square with sides about 18 kilometers long! The district is located about 29 meters above sea level. This means it's not very high up, close to the coast.
Villages in the District
The main town and administrative center of Nacascolo district is called Guardia. Besides Guardia, there are several other smaller villages in the district. These include Bejuco, Nacascolo, Oratorio, Puerto Culebra, and Triunfo.
