As a teenager, Nacole improved her singing skills. She learned from her vocal coach, Vera Warrick. Ms. Warrick later formed an all-girl singing group. It was called Shadz of U. The group included Nacole and her childhood friends. These friends were Chandra Boone, Selina Robb, and Kimberley Locke.
Shadz of U became very popular in the Nashville area. The group even appeared on Kimberley Locke's album. They sang on the song "Everyday Angels." This song was on Kimberley Locke's second album, Based on a True Story, released in 2007.
