Sammie Lee Bush, Jr. (born March 1, 1987), known as Sammie, is an American R&B singer and songwriter. He became famous as a young teenager with his hit song "I Like It" in 1999.

After his first album, From the Bottom to the Top, he took a break from music to finish school. He returned in 2006 with his second album, Sammie. Since then, he has continued to release new music and tour for his fans.

Music Career

A Star from a Young Age

Sammie's talent was first noticed when he performed on the TV show Showtime at the Apollo in 1998. He won the competition by singing "My Cheri Amour" by Stevie Wonder. This amazing performance helped him get a record deal with Capitol Records in 1999.

In 2000, at just 13 years old, he released his first album, From the Bottom to the Top. It was a big success and sold over 500,000 copies, which earned it a gold certification from the RIAA.

The album's first single, "I Like It", was a huge hit. It climbed to number 24 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. His second single, "Crazy Things I Do", was also popular on the R&B charts.

Return to Music

After his early success, Sammie decided to take a break from the music world to focus on his education. In 2005, he graduated from high school in Florida.

Soon after, he signed with Dallas Austin's record label and started working on his second album, Sammie, which came out in 2006. The album featured the popular songs "You Should Be My Girl" and "Come with Me".

In 2008, Sammie was featured on the hit song "Kiss Me thru the Phone" by Soulja Boy. The song was incredibly popular, reaching number 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. This introduced Sammie's voice to a whole new group of fans.

Recent Music and Tours

Sammie has stayed busy creating new music for his fans. He released the album Coming of Age in 2017 and Everlasting in 2019. To support his music, he went on "The Everlasting Tour" in 2019, where he performed in smaller venues to give his fans a special, up-close experience.

In 2020, Sammie joined The Millennium Tour. He performed alongside other famous artists like Omarion, Bow Wow, and Soulja Boy. Later that year, he released his fifth album, Such Is Life.

In June 2022, Sammie took part in a popular online music series called Verzuz. He competed against other R&B singers like Bobby V and Ray J. Fans loved his performance, and many said he was the "winner" of the night. After the show, the singers decided to form a new group together called R.S.V.P.
