Nakia Yarbrough Codie, born on January 20, 1977, is a former American football player. He was a defensive back who played for the Pittsburgh Steelers in the National Football League (NFL). Before joining the NFL, he played college football at Baylor University.

Early Life and College Football
Nakia Codie was born in Onslow County, North Carolina. He grew up and went to high school in Cleburne, Texas.
After high school, Nakia played college football for the Baylor Bears. He was a key player for four years, from 1995 to 1998.
Professional Football Career
After college, Nakia Codie hoped to join the NFL. He was not chosen in the 1999 NFL draft, but he still got a chance.
Playing for the Detroit Lions
On April 23, 1999, Nakia signed with the Detroit Lions. He worked hard during the team's training camp. However, he was released by the Lions on August 31, 1999.
Time with the Pittsburgh Steelers
Nakia Codie did not give up on his dream. On April 4, 2000, he signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers. He was released from the main team on August 22, 2000. But he was quickly signed to the Steelers' practice squad on August 29.
Later that year, on November 18, Nakia was moved to the Steelers' active roster. This meant he could play in real NFL games. He played in six games during the 2000 season. During this time, he made one interception, which is when a defensive player catches a pass meant for an offensive player. Nakia was released by the Steelers on August 27, 2001.
Life After Football
After his time in the NFL, Nakia Codie continued to be involved with football. He became a personal football trainer, helping other players improve their skills. He also started his own football camp, teaching young athletes about the game.
Later, Nakia moved into the financial world. He worked in the finance industry, including a job as a manager at Ally Financial Service.
