Nako Yabuki (矢吹 奈子, born 18 June 2001) is a Japanese actress and former singer. She was a member of the Japanese idol group HKT48 and the South Korean-Japanese group Iz*One. She became part of Iz*One after finishing sixth in the TV show Produce 48. As an actress, she is known for playing young Minami Asakura in the 2005 film Touch.

Nako joined HKT48 in November 2013. She was also a member of AKB48 from 2015 to 2017. Since 2016, she has been a model for the Japanese magazine Love Berry.

Nako Yabuki's Journey in Entertainment

Nako Yabuki started her career at a very young age. She made her first movie appearance in 2005. This was in the film Touch, where she played a younger version of the character Minami Asakura.

Early Acting Roles

After her film debut, Nako appeared in commercials for companies like JCB and Dainichi in 2007. In 2009, she acted in two TV movies. These were Detective Samonji Susumu and My Father's Longest Day.

She also appeared in a commercial for Koala's March in 2011. In 2012, she was in a short film called On the Shinhori River. The next year, she acted in the superhero movie Gatchaman.

Joining Idol Groups: HKT48 and AKB48

Nako Yabuki was a big fan of Rino Sashihara, a famous Japanese idol. She met Sashihara at an AKB48 event. Sashihara encouraged her to try out for the group. Nako decided to audition for HKT48 instead, as Sashihara had moved to that group.

In 2013, Nako successfully passed the auditions to become a member of HKT48. She quickly became a popular member.

Becoming a Member of Iz*One

In 2018, Nako took part in a TV show called Produce 48. This show was a competition to create a new girl group. Nako did very well and finished in 6th place. This meant she became one of the twelve members of the new Korean-Japanese idol group, Iz*One.

While she was with Iz*One, Nako and the other two Japanese members took a break from their Japanese groups. Their contract with Iz*One ended in April 2021.

Returning to HKT48 and Graduation

After Iz*One's contract ended, Nako returned to Japan. On May 15, 2021, she officially started performing with HKT48 again.

On October 16, 2022, Nako announced that she would be leaving HKT48. Her final concert with the group was held on April 1, 2023. After leaving HKT48, she decided to focus on her acting career.

New Beginnings: Twin Planet

Nako's contract with her previous agency, Vernalossom, ended on January 28, 2023. On June 18, 2023, it was announced that Nako Yabuki had joined a new agency called Twin Planet. She continues to work as an actress.
