Where Did It Come From?
The Suan Sunanddha Palace is known as the place where many royal Thai dishes were first created. It is said that Queen Sadub Ladawan made the original recipe for Nam phrik long ruea. She prepared it for a picnic on a boat for two princesses. Their names were Sohmdet Ying Naawy and Sohmdet Ying Glaang.
Later, a person named Mawm Luang Neuang Ninrat wrote down this special recipe. This helped to make sure the recipe was remembered and could be shared for many years to come.
