The Nant Llwydiarth is a small but important river located in Mid Wales. It starts its journey high up on a mountain and flows down to meet other rivers. This river is part of a larger system that eventually reaches the sea.

About the Nant Llwydiarth River

The Nant Llwydiarth is a short river in the beautiful region of Mid Wales. It plays a role in the local water system. Even though it's small, it's a key part of the natural landscape.

Where the River Begins

This river starts on the southern side of a mountain called Mynydd Hendre-ddu. This mountain is about 1,200 feet (366 meters) high. The water flows down from these high slopes.

The River's Journey

From its source, the Nant Llwydiarth flows downhill. It travels towards a place called Pont Cymerau. This spot is located a bit north-east of a village named Aberllefenni.

Joining Other Rivers

At Pont Cymerau, the Nant Llwydiarth meets another river. This river is called the Nant Ceiswyn. When these two rivers join, they form a new, larger river. This new river is known as the Afon Dulas.

The Afon Dulas then continues its journey south. It eventually flows into the Afon Dyfi. The Afon Dyfi is a much larger river that eventually reaches the sea. So, the small Nant Llwydiarth is part of a big network of waterways.

Pont Cymerau Bridge

The place where the rivers meet, Pont Cymerau, is special. There was an old bridge there a long time ago. This bridge helped people cross the river.
