Nassir Shamai Little (born February 11, 2000) is an American professional basketball player. He plays for the Sioux Falls Skyforce in the NBA G League. Nassir was one of the best high school players in his class. He helped his team, Orlando Christian Prep, win two state championships in Florida. After high school, he played college basketball for the North Carolina Tar Heels. He was then picked by the Portland Trail Blazers in the first round of the 2019 NBA draft.

Early Life and High School Success
Nassir Little played his first two years of high school basketball at Oakleaf High School. This was from 2014 to 2016. He then moved to Orlando Christian Prep for his junior and senior years. There, he led his team to win two Florida state championships in a row.
In 2018, Nassir played in the McDonald's All-American Game. This game features the best high school basketball players in the country. He scored 28 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. He was named the most valuable player (MVP) of the game. He also won MVP honors at the Jordan Brand Classic. This is another important high school All-American game. Nassir is one of only two players, along with LeBron James, to win MVP at both events. Experts like Rivals ranked him as the second-best high school player in 2018.
College Career at North Carolina

Nassir decided to play college basketball for the North Carolina Tar Heels. He joined the team on October 4, 2017. His first game for the Tar Heels was on November 6, 2018. He scored 7 points and helped his team win against Wofford.
Nassir had his best college game against Virginia Tech. He scored 23 points, grabbed 6 rebounds, and had 3 assists. North Carolina won that game 103–82. After his first year, Nassir decided to leave college early. He chose to enter the 2019 NBA draft. Many expected him to be picked in the first round.
Professional Career
Portland Trail Blazers (2019–2023)
On June 20, 2019, the Portland Trail Blazers picked Nassir Little. He was the 25th player chosen in the 2019 NBA draft. He officially signed with the Blazers on July 1, 2019.
On February 1, 2021, Nassir scored his career-high of 30 points. He also had 6 rebounds in that game. In January 2022, Nassir had a shoulder injury. He needed surgery and missed the rest of the season. In May, he had another surgery on his stomach.
In October 2022, Nassir signed a new contract with the Trail Blazers. It was for four years and $28 million. In April 2023, he had another stomach surgery.
Phoenix Suns (2023–2024)
On September 27, 2023, Nassir was traded to the Phoenix Suns. This was part of a big trade involving three teams. Damian Lillard went to the Milwaukee Bucks. Other players and a draft pick went to the Portland Trail Blazers. Nassir played for the Suns for one season.
On August 27, 2024, the Suns decided to release Nassir.
Sioux Falls Skyforce (2024–present)
On September 24, 2024, Nassir signed with the Miami Heat. However, he was released by them on October 19. On October 28, he joined the Sioux Falls Skyforce. This team is part of the NBA G League.
