Nastasya Generalova (born January 19, 2000) is an American former rhythmic gymnast. She was born in Beverly Hills, California. After her gymnastics career, Nastasya became a model.

About Nastasya Generalova

Nastasya Generalova's mother, Olga Generalova, moved to the United States from Russia. Nastasya was raised by her mother. She started training in gymnastics when she was four years old, in 2004.

Nastasya went to Palisades Charter High School and finished in 2018. She then went to Columbia University. There, she earned both a bachelor's and a master's degree.

You might have seen Nastasya in Taylor Swift's music video for "Shake It Off". She performed as one of the rhythmic gymnasts in the video.

Nastasya Generalova had a successful career in rhythmic gymnastics. She competed in many events both in the United States and around the world.

Junior Gymnastics Career

Nastasya began competing as a junior gymnast. In 2013, she took part in her first U.S. Rhythmic Championships. She won first place in clubs and second place in hoop. Overall, she finished fifth in the competition.

In 2014, Nastasya started competing internationally. She won first place in the all-around, hoop, and ball events at the International Tournament of Pas de Calais. She was also part of the junior team at the 2014 Pacific Rim Championships. Her team, Team USA, won the gold medal. Nastasya herself placed second in the all-around at this event. In 2015, she won a bronze medal in the all-around and a silver medal in clubs at the Irina Deleanu Cup.

Senior Gymnastics Career

Nastasya moved up to the senior level in 2016. She competed in her first World Cup event, the 2016 Tashkent World Cup. She finished seventh in the all-around and made it to all four apparatus finals. At the 2016 Sofia World Cup, she placed twelfth in the all-around.

Before the 2016 Olympics, Nastasya was featured in a TV series called Gold Medal Families. She finished fifth in the all-around at the 2016 USA Gymnastics National Championships. However, she was not chosen for the Olympic Team that year.

In 2017, Nastasya competed at the Kiev Grand Prix. She finished sixth in the all-around and reached three apparatus finals. At the Tashkent World Cup, she placed tenth in the all-around and seventh in the clubs final. She also competed at the Portimao World Cup. There, she finished fifth in the all-around and qualified for three apparatus finals. She won her first World Cup medal, a bronze, in the ball final. She also placed fourth in hoop and fifth in ribbon.

In 2018, Nastasya continued to compete at a high level. She finished fifth in the all-around at the 2018 Grand Prix Kiev. She earned silver medals in ball and clubs at the 2018 Pan American Gymnastics Championships in September. In October, she won her first Grand Prix series medal. She took home a silver medal in the clubs final at the event in Marbella.

Nastasya started her 2019 season at the Rhythmic Challenge in Indianapolis. She finished second with ball and third in the all-around, clubs, and ribbon. She also placed fourth with hoop. In April, she competed at the Thiais Grand Prix. In May, she competed at the Guadalajara World Challenge Cup, finishing eleventh all-around and seventh in the ribbon final. At the Rhythmic Elite Qualifier in May, Nastasya won a gold medal with clubs and a bronze medal in the all-around. At the USA Gymnastics Championships in July, she finished fourth in the all-around. She also won a bronze medal in clubs during the finals.

Nastasya Generalova finished her gymnastics career in 2019. In 2024, she was part of a documentary called Breaking Boundaries. This film looked at her career from 2016 to 2019. It also talked about her experiences as a Black athlete in a sport where there are not many Black gymnasts.

Nastasya's Modeling Career

After her gymnastics career, Nastasya Generalova became a model. She is signed with Wilhelmina Models, a well-known modeling agency. She has also appeared in Teen Vogue magazine.
