Natalia Barbu (born on August 22, 1979) is a talented singer and songwriter from Moldova. She is famous for representing her country twice in the exciting Eurovision Song Contest. She first sang "Fight" in 2007 and then returned with "In the Middle" in 2024.

Music Journey

Natalia Barbu has explored many different music styles throughout her career. She has worked with a group called Trigon to create unique jazz-folk music. Natalia is very involved in her songs. She writes the words (lyrics) and creates the music for most of them. She also works with her team to arrange the songs.
In 2006, Natalia signed a three-year deal with Cat Music Records. This company is part of Sony Music in Bucharest.
One of her biggest hits was the song "Îngerul meu" (which means "My Angel") in Romania. This song was incredibly popular! It stayed at the number one spot on the Romanian Top 100 music chart for 11 weeks. It was also played a lot on MTV Romania.
On December 14, 2006, Natalia Barbu was chosen to represent Moldova at the Eurovision Song Contest 2007. Her song was called "Fight". She did very well at the contest! She made it through the semi-final on May 10, 2007. In the final on May 12, 2007, she finished in 10th place, earning 109 points.
In 2012, Natalia started working with music producer Radu Sirbu and songwriter Ana Sirbu. They worked together under the name Rassada Music. That summer, Natalia released a new song called "I Said It's Sad". She said this song showed a big change in her music style. "I Said It's Sad" quickly became the number one song on the Top 10 Airplay Moldova chart. Later in 2012, she released "Iubire Cu Aroma De Cafea" and "Confession." "Confession" was even considered for the Romanian national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest 2013.
Natalia Barbu was chosen to compete in Etapa națională 2024. This was the Moldovan competition to pick their entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2024. Her song was "In the Middle". She won the audition round on January 13, 2024, and moved on to the final. In the final, she was selected to be Moldova's singer for the contest. At Eurovision, she performed in the first semi-final on May 7, 2024. Unfortunately, she did not qualify for the final, finishing 13th out of 15 with 20 points.
Personal Life
In 2011, Natalia Barbu married a businessman from Romania. She now lives with him in Romania. They have two children together.
